FAQ

Why Should You Hire a Professional Assembler or Installer?

  1. Patience
  2. Tools
  3. Time
  4. Experience
  • If you don't have enough Patience  to read and follow the directions, all the tools,  time, or even  experience you may have could yield poor results.

  • Easy assembly "all the tools you need are a screw driver, a pair of pliers and a hammer." If you believe this, you're in for a BIG surprise.

  • The  time it takes the average person to assemble a product is about five times that of a seasoned professional, sometimes more.

  • Make sure the money you spend on your  products will go a long way! Hire someone with  Patience, Tools, Time and Experience - someone who has what it takes to put your new furniture or products together right the first time.

Plan on doing the assembly yourself?

It was implied in a news article, that I said, "Many RTA kits don't require tools. Those that do usually require only the basics: screwdrivers, hammer, pliers and perhaps a crescent wrench." Nothing could be further from the truth!

The truth is...
Almost ALL RTA products requires tools, tools and more tools. It is unheard of, that RTA products requires no tools. If you don't have at least the basic tools that I have been "implied as saying" is required; forget it! But understand this, using only the basics will increase your assembly time and frustration . I told the interviewer if someone only has the basics, they should probably hire a professional. At the very minimum your tool arsenal  should have a power screwdriver.

There are some RTA products have at least a thousand pieces of hardware. Some of the screws are over three inches long. Now imagine turning those screws a thousand times understanding that one twist does not drive it in. You get the idea.

Furthermore:

If time is a factor for you... studies have shown that in the amount of time it takes the average "mechanically inclined person" to assemble a piece of furniture, it will take a good assembler a fraction of that time, about one  to five hours. One for the assembler and five for you. If you need it done fast and correctly...
I wouldn't try it!

If time is not a factor
and you attempt to assemble it yourself, please take these sincere words of advice...

Take your time and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!

For a technician to come out and fix something that was not done right the first time (it happens more times than people would like it to), the charge could be double (if it needs taken apart and re-assembled).

THE BIKE GUY technicians carry special tools
to aid in the assembly of your products, making us prepared for all types of product assembly. A hammer and screwdriver will not get it for most assemblies, if that is all you have to work with... I wouldn't try it!

If you do not have patience...
I wouldn't try it!

If you do not like reading or following directions... I wouldn't try it!

Experience... Well, you will never get it unless you do it. All that needs to be said is, if you take on an assembly by yourself,  please take all the above into consideration.
